{"id":8,"date":"2009-10-14T16:31:21","date_gmt":"2009-10-14T21:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/luzernelibraries.org\/blog\/?p=8"},"modified":"2009-10-14T16:31:21","modified_gmt":"2009-10-14T21:31:21","slug":"raising-the-roof","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luzernelibraries.org\/blog\/2009\/10\/raising-the-roof\/","title":{"rendered":"Raising the Roof"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wilkes-Barre <em>Raised the Roof<\/em> on Saturday, October 3<sup>rd <\/sup>and raised some much needed funds for the Osterhout Free Library.\u00a0 To celebrate the continued renaissance of Downtown Wilkes-Barre (and to help out the Osterhout), organizers devised a plan to show the City from a whole new vantage point.<\/p>\n<p>The event took place on the top floor of the \u201cPark and Lock East\u201d Parking Garage on the corner of Washington and Market Streets. The party ran from 5 &#8211; 7:30 PM and afterward, attendees were encouraged to hit the downtown and enjoy what the City has to offer. There was an \u201cOctoberfest\u201d theme and the night featured food samplings from various Wilkes-Barre area restaurants as well as\u00a0seasonal cocktails and live music. Over 200 people were in attendance for this first-time event.
